2019 Viking Opener

Another fun one for the Windsor Cross Country Team! Running in the 35th Annual Viking Opener at Spring Lake, we had countless Jaguars run PR's and four student-athletes earn medals as top ten finishers.

FRESHMAN BOYS: Alex Hawk ran a very strong 13:12, cutting over 2:00 off his time from a week ago in Vacaville. Jonathan Henry ran a PR and Eugene Brown made his debut.

 

SOPHOMORE BOYS: Dustin Smith ran to a 2nd place finish in 10:46, moving him into 5th on the all-time Windsor list on this course. Valentino Bugica and Tallen Theiss, both finishing in 11:48, also moved into the all-time Top 25. The Sophomore Boys had the highest team finish, taking 4th out of 18.

 

FROSH/SOPH GIRLS: Lilja Chung earned another Top 10 finish, running the 2-mile course in 12:55, good enough for 8th. Prissilla Tucker also came up with a great effort, running a 14:28 to be the No. 2 girl for the entire WHS team.

 

JUNIOR BOYS: Landon McAlister ran a brilliant race, jumping all the way to 6th on the all-time list with a 10:55. He was 13th in the race. Ian Hopkins was also solid, finishing 32nd in 11:40, #17 all-time.

 

JUNIOR/SENIOR GIRLS: Running short-handed because of ACT testing, the Junior/Senior Girls got a 32nd place finish from Nataleigh Johnson (14:36). Ava Smith also made her 2019 debut in a very strong 14:49.

 

SENIOR BOYS: Hunter Larson moved through a very strong field to finish 4th overall in 10:39. That moves him up to 4th on the all-time list.

 

OPEN BOYS: Max Hidalgo earned a medal with a 9th place finish in 13:00. Ben Chatfield and Max Weng also ran to PR's.
