Spring Lake Quad Meet

The Jaguars took advantage of an opportunity to preview the NBL Championships course with a casual four-way meet with Analy, Piner, and Sonoma Valley.  It was an encouraging outing to say the least.

JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS:  The Jaguars were absolutely dominating this race until the top four runners took a wrong turn, adding a good half mile or so on to their run.  Kevin Manni, David Kvamme, and Robert Carrillo had a comfortable lead, but ended up in the middle of the pack.  The Jags' top finisher (who ran the right course) was Marquez Vigil, who finished 2nd in 20:00.2.  Ben Chatfield (20:14), Max Weng (20:32), and Alex Hawk (20:48) weren't far behind.

 

JUNIOR VARSITY GIRLS: While we were low on numbers, we were high on effort as Erika Hovland led the way with a 25:27, good enough for 5th overall.  Adrian Novak (10th) and Brianna Henry (11th) also competed.

 

VARSITY BOYS: The Jags' top three overwhelmed the field, with Hunter Larson (16:06), Dustin Smith (16:18), and Landon McAlister (16:18) all logging top-seven all-time marks.  Steven Vail (18:09) was fourth among Jaguars while Tallen Theiss (18:30) and Garrett Melvin (18:30) battled it out for the final scoring spot. As a team, the Varsity Boys cruised to a comfortable victory.

 

VARSITY GIRLS: Lilja Chung led from wire to wire in a very strong 20:07.  Erin O'Mara (21:13) and Nataleigh Johnson (21:15) also slotted in the top five to give the Jaguars a boost.  As a team, the Jags were just edged by conference rival Analy, 37-43 (in four-way scoring).
